What Is Hemp Oil?

This is a question that has confused many people and in many cases, the immediate reaction is that it’s some illicit drug. The reason for this is that many people have fallen for the misconception that hemp and marijuana are the same. But nothing could be further from the truth. The two plants belong to the same family of cannabis plant. And the leaves can look very similar. However, the hemp plant does not contain any psycho-active ingredients. In other words, it won’t make you high. So, when you see products like our very own Royal Botanical Hemp Extract, then it’s important to understand that it isn’t some fancy name to hide a drug with positive and negative sides to it. Quite the opposite is the case.

The oil used in our products is derived from the seeds of the plants, as well as an extract from the plant itself. This combination provides the full range of health benefits that have been used by human for literally thousands of years. And because it contains barely trace amounts of Tetrahydrocannabinol (the stuff that would make you high), there is no risk of any psychedelic effects kicking in. All the benefits from this product come without any side effects to your mental state. So, why is there all this confusion?

Hemp Oil Vs Cannabis Oil

As already mentioned, the hemp and marijuana plants are part of the same family, but differ in the substances they contain. The cannabis plant that marijuana is sourced from is generally high in Tetrahydrocannabinol levels, ranging 3% to 25%. And it’s specifically the lack of this Tetrahydrocannabinol content that distinguishes hemp.

Oil from the hemp plant is sourced from both the seeds and extracted directly from the plant itself. The two sources provide their own unique advatages and active ingredients that have countless health benefits. In order to be able to market something as Tetrahydrocannabinol free Cannabidiol oil, it has to be certified to contain less than 0.3% of Tetrahydrocannabinol. This is not meant to say that Tetrahydrocannabinol doesn’t serve its purpose. Many clinical studies have proven that it has many uses in medical treatments. But you shouldn’t buy a Cannabidiol hemp oil product, expecting to gain such results. This type of Cannabidiol oil still brings many health improvements, but it should be considered as a nutritional supplement not a medical treatment.
